Why the Chick Doesn't Hatch: Common Errors Explained

Has anyone else ever had to assist a hatch due to humidity issues? They always say not to assist chicks during hatch… and in most cases, that may be true. But this one was on me. It wasn’t the chick’s fault. My humidity dropped and I didn’t catch it in time, and this little one stalled with the membrane starting to dry. At that point, I made the decision to step in and assist before it turned into a true shrink wrap situation. Knowing when to step in matters just as much as knowing when not to.
